MUSETTES CONSTITUTION AMENDMENTS
March 2016

(New) Article XVI—Selection of Director

The Procedure for the selection of a musical director shall be as follows:

In January of every even-numbered year members of the Musettes may submit names to the Board of Directors, on behalf of themselves or others, to be considered for the positions of co-director.

The Board of Directors will review the applications and select two prospective co-directors for a two-year term. 

[Add] Prospective directors shall audition before the chorus by leading them in a song of her choosing during a regular rehearsal prior to being approved by the chorus.

All other points for the selection of director will remain in place.

(Old) Article XVI—Selection of Director

The Procedure for the selection of a musical director shall be as follows:
In January of every leap year members of the Musettes may submit names to the Board of Directors, on behalf of themselves or others, to be considered for the positions of co-director.
The Board of Directors will review the applications and select two prospective co-directors for a four-year term.
The names of the prospective co-directors will be submitted to the Musettes in May and must be approved by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the current active membership with three-quarters (3/4) of the current active membership being present.
If a prospective co-director is not approved, the individual will be privately notified.  The Board of Directors will select other names and present them, following the same procedure until two co-directors are approved.
Upon the request of the Board and if a current co-director is willing to remain another term, the Board will present her/his name and the above procedure will be followed.
The new co-directors will be announced in May, but will not begin the four year term until the following September.
Should a co-director desire to resign she must give three (3) months notice to the Board.
If the Board of Directors requests the resignation of a co-director, the other co-director will assume all directing responsibilities until the procedures outlining the selection of a co-director can be put into effect.  The Board may appoint a temporary co-director
